Basic Copy Editing With our Basic Copy Editing service, a professional book editor will review your manuscript for technical elements only, such as the following: ▪ Spelling ▪ Grammar ▪ Punctuation ▪ Consistency With this service, the editor will not review your manuscript for stylistic elements and will not offer any feedback or suggestions on the content, character development, or structure of your work. First Round: $0.02/word Each Additional Rounds: $0.015/word Advanced Copy Editing With our Advanced Copy Editing service, a professional book editor will review your manuscript for both technical and stylistic elements. The technical elements include the following: ▪ Spelling ▪ Grammar ▪ Punctuation ▪ Consistency The stylistic elements include the following: ▪ Concept and intended use ▪ Organization ▪ Structure ▪ Tone ▪ Characterization ▪ Other principles specific to the book's genre. ▪ Most importantly, the editor will also provide feedback and suggestions for making improvements to your work. First Round: $0.025/word Each Additional Round Rounds: $0.02/word Process of Copy Editing: ▪ You provide us with your finished manuscript in a Microsoft Word format. ▪ Our professional editor will review your work and provide feedback and suggestions utilizing the Microsoft Word "track changes" and "comments" tools. ▪ We send you the edited version of your manuscript in the same Microsoft Word format. ▪ You retain line-item control over your work and accept or reject each individual editorial change made by our editor. ▪ You incorporate the editor's ideas, comments and suggestions into your manuscript. ▪ Once you have reviewed and integrated the editor's feedback, you resend your updated manuscript to us for the next round of review to either the same editor for continued help or to a new editor to have it reviewed by a fresh set of eyes, the choice is yours. ▪ Repeat the above steps for up to five rounds or until you are satisfied in order to obtain a thorough and comprehensive edit. For a thorough Copy Editing job, we recommend multiple rounds of Advanced Copy Editing. The number of rounds recommended actually depends on many factors such as how much you have worked on your manuscript, where you are in the development of your manuscript, and of course the nature of your work. Nevertheless, no matter how hard you have worked to make your manuscript perfect, it is always recommended to expose it to a set of new eyes. Our highly comprehensive Copy Editing process provides the greatest benefit to you as the author, while allowing you to maintain complete control and ownership of your manuscript. Our Copy Editing services may be purchased in any number of rounds, there is no minimum or maximum restriction. Note: Authors who purchase only one round of Copy Editing are solely responsible for incorporating the editor's feedback into their work and accepting or rejecting each editorial change. We will not send the updated manuscripts back to the editor for further review unless you opt to buy more rounds of our Copy Editing services. |
